Hey Carrie, we love you! Thanks for being a part of BODYReDESIGN 360° and sharing your story here. We’ve got a few questions for you, because we’d love to hear about your own journey to getting lean and learning to love your body.
Tell us a little about yourself first.
Wife to an amazing man and mom to three lovely girls. I started BRD two months before my third daughter turned one. I was sick of hanging onto the last bit of baby weight and just wanted my clothes to fit. (You can hang out with Carrie at her awesome blog to learn more.)
Why did you sign up for BODYReDESIGN?
To lose weight and gain balance in my daily routine.
How did you feel about your body when you started the program?
I tolerated my body and really felt like it was what it was.
Was BODYReDESIGN really as simple as Lisa & Sarah say it is?
Yes, it is simple when I looked at each meal individually as a choice it was simple. When I thought about limited chocolate for 5 weeks, it was hard.
What was your biggest take-away from completing the program?
BALANCE, and teaching my girls that healthy eating is for everyone.
What kind of results did you experience because of participating in the program?
I gained a knowledge for how food makes my body work.
Oh and I lost 17 pounds! (and I haven’t had store-bought dressing in over a year)
Would you recommend BODYReDESIGN to others, and why?
Yes, because it’s awesome and fun and simple.
How have you continued to be successful with the BODYReDESIGN lifestyle since completing the program?
I am mindful of serving a well rounded meal to my family. I choose healthier snacks and I eat breakfast.
How did you feel about your body after the program?
I love it + the recipes are so fun and yummy.
Is there anything else you’d like to add about your BODYReDESIGN experience?
I totally looked at BRD as a diet and a challenge, at first. I figured I can stick to this for five weeks and slim up just to go back to my binge eating issues.
Little did I know that the food would move me to a life-giving balance. I felt amazing by week two and stronger in week three.
I had been converted! My family was too. They loved the meals and the new snacks. Gone were the cups of “goldfish” and my girls welcomed the edamame and salads.
I love that the five week challenge can be a jump start but that the reality of the program is to change your life, not just your body. Even after gaining some of the weight back I live a more active and healthier lifestyle than I ever have, even when I was at my smallest, prior to kids.
